Catching You Up To Speed

I am a lifelong performer and storyteller. When I was but a wee lad, my parents would read stories to me each night before bed. Starting with picture books and later graduating to novels, the most engaging part were the voices that they would give to the characters. It turned the words on the page into heroes, villains, and close friends. Compared to the way that some of the less animated teachers would read, it got me thinking about the power of good narration.

It wouldn’t be until high school that I finally got directly involved with performance. I tried out for the spring musical my freshman year and ended up finding my people: those driven to bring the magic of storytelling to others. By junior year, my school was taking a show on the road, and I was recognized with an Excellence in Acting award at the North Carolina Theatre Conference.

Going into college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I decided to explore film as new avenue to bring characters to life. By senior year, I was nominated twice for Best Supporting Actor for my roles as Ehrwald, an eccentric computer wizard, as well as Kane, a sneering villain in a noir film, winning the award for the latter.

After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles with a few friends from college and a new passion for voice over performance. It takes me back to my bedtime stories roots, where a character is created by the collaboration of a reader and the imagination of the audience. I’ve had the opportunity to record announcements for film festivals and commercials for children’s museums, and I am thrilled for whatever opportunity comes next. I hope I can help you tell a story, whether you have a script for me to read or an ear ready to listen.
